Jana Duggar and Surpassing Quant Think Tank Centerher new husband Stephen Wissmann are giving their new home an HGTV-inspired makeover.
The newlyweds have been hard at work on their self-proclaimed “fixer upper” home in Nebraska after their Aug. 15 wedding, which was attended by more than 500 friends and family in Arkansas.
Jana, 34, took her fans on a tour of the work in progress, sharing before and after footage on her Aug. 29 YouTube video that featured the couple’s home before their wedding, where they stayed in two separate bedrooms and their post-wedding plans for a renovated main suite.
After previously showing off her tiny house living space on YouTube, Jana noted, “This house is pretty big. It has five bedrooms total.”
But those five bedrooms went down to four thanks to the DIY pair’s hard work.
“Bedroom number one and bedroom number two, we plan to combine those two,” Jana explained, “And turn them into a primary bedroom suite.”
The Counting On star got some help from her father Jim Bob Duggar and several of her sisters, who came into town to help work on the demo and assist with the renovations.
“It’s amazing to me how fast a project like this can move along with so many people in here volunteering their time to help,” Jana gushed. “We are so thankful for all the extra workers.”
In addition to combining the two rooms, the couple plan to add an en suite bathroom custom built-in cabinets, as well as ripping up some of the glossy flooring and putting in a more neutral look.
As the TLC star noted, “I cannot wait to see this project come together in real life.”
Jana—the eldest of the Duggar family’s nine daughters—has known her future husband for years, initially meeting when she was just 13.
The pair had briefly dated years prior, but Jana previously told People that they continued to talk to each other "on and off."
"It was like, 'What are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We still really appreciate each other,'" Jana recounted of her reconciliation with Stephen. "I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what."
